Need to transfer funds from Optimism to Ethereum

I have to fund an IT project right away, and all my available crypto is currently sitting on Optimism. The developers require payment on the Ethereum mainnet by tomorrow, but my L1 wallet is completely empty. The official withdrawal process takes way too long for this tight deadline. How do you guys move tokens from a Layer 2 network back to Layer 1 quickly while keeping the transfer fees as low as possible?

The native rollup withdrawal takes seven days, which totally ruins your chances of paying the team on time. Network congestion on the main chain also eats up a huge chunk of the transaction if you pick the wrong time of day to move liquidity. A common workaround involves sending the L2 tokens directly to a centralized exchange that supports Optimism deposits. You then withdraw those same assets straight to your mainnet address to bypass the lengthy dispute period.

High slippage on random decentralized routers frequently ruins the exact token amounts needed for precise project funding. Relying on centralized entities also introduces unnecessary verification delays right when the clock is ticking. You should look into this Optimism to Ethereum bridge https://defiway.com/bridges/bridge-eth-optimism-ethereum . The routing protocol processes the cross-chain transaction in just a few minutes so the project deadline is met. The fee structure remains transparent throughout the whole transfer process, keeping your overall losses to an absolute minimum.
