Transmission slipping between 2nd and 3rd – rebuild or replace?
My 2013 Nissan Altima with the CVT transmission has started acting up. When I accelerate gently, it feels like it’s slipping or hesitating between what feels like 2nd and 3rd gear even though I know CVTs don’t have actual gears. The RPMs will flare up without the car speeding up. No check engine light yet but I can tell something is wrong. I took it to one shop who said I need a full transmission replacement for 8500 dirhams. Another shop said they can try a fluid flush and additive for 500 dirhams but no guarantee. I’m trying to find a proper gearbox repair service Dubai that can actually open up the transmission and replace worn parts instead of just swapping the whole unit. I saw Dynostar’s gearbox page and they mention rebuilding CVTs which is rare to find. Has anyone here had a slipping Nissan CVT that was successfully rebuilt instead of replaced? How much did it cost and how long did it last afterwards? I love the car but I don’t want to spend more than it’s worth. Any advice would be amazing. Thanks.
