    The fact that it comes and goes depending on brake temperature points more toward sand contamination or minor glazing than actual wear through. Glazing from heat soak on the way back down from dunes is real but usually responds to a few firm stops from highway speed to clean the surface. If the noise persists after that then it’s worth getting eyes on it properly.
